Refresh 008 Recap
Thanks to everyone who came out last night to watch and discuss the webinar from Jared Spool. We drew a small crowd by the usual standards (about 17 people attended), but our discussion afterwards was Refresh at its finest. If you were there and you learned something or shared something, feel free to leave a comment.
Mindy Wagner wrote up a recap of the meeting and we posted photos on Flickr. We’re looking forward to seeing you next month on July 22nd. We’re looking for a host / sponsor - let us know if you’d be up for it.

During the follow-up discussion, I was referring to some of UIE‘s stats that Jared Spool had shared at An Event Apart Boston. I think I was close on the figures, but here are the numbers directly from Jared’s presentation:
- 42% of all clickstreams result in users failing to find their desired content
- 82% of all clickstreams that involve one click of the back button result in users failing to find their desired content
- 98% of all clickstreams that involve two clicks of the back button result in users failing to find their desired content
I don’t know the details behind these findings (they seem extreme to me), but they definitely make me curious. There’s more useful content/research in Jared’s presentation which won’t translate through his slides (PDF), but catch the upcoming virtual seminar to hear him talk through it all.
